Q: Since classes are suspended indefinitely, can I plot for a whole day even during the hours of my supposed class?
A: No. The existing policy on the maximum hours per day (6 hours) and non-reporting during class hours is still in place. Hence, you cannot plot SAGA hours during your supposed class hours. For the whole duration of the class suspension, you may use your class hours to do academic related tasks and/or other personal matters. Moreover, the system would not allow this.

Q: Can I exceed my allotted hours since there are no classes?
A: No, you are allowed, however ,to maximize your allotted hours per month as long as it is within the allowed parameters (e.g., six hours per day, not within class hours) but you cannot encode more than your allocated hours. Moreover, the system would not allow this.

Q: Since we do not have physical logbooks and the physical supervision of our supervisors, can we just randomly plot hours to maximize them?
A: We encourage you to still stick with your regular schedule and consult with your supervisors with regards to the plotting of your Hours. The Student Assistantship Division will do its best to exercise leniency and openness with regards to the SAGA hours without sacrificing honor, excellence, and integrity.

Q:Why can't I be hired by my supervisor?
A: First, you must have completed the video orientation and passed the respective quiz to be eligible to be hired. You must also update your OSAM account, otherwise there will also be an error.

Q: Do I need to print and sign DTRs as well as the CWAs?
A: Yes, you need to print and originally sign the DTR and CWAs of your SAGA. Your SAGAs need not sign the DTR and CWAs anymore, only original signatures of supervisors are required. The SAGAs may opt to put their wet signature instead. After your approval, you will then need to print and sign the DTR and CWAs and submit the same to OSG at the dropping area for OVCSA files located at the 1st Floor of SU Building with a metal filer marked “OSG.”

Q: Is my SAGA allowed to report during holidays and weekend?
A: It depends. Some of the SAGA categories can report during holidays and weekends. You can refer to this table to be guided on the reporting schedule according to the SAGA category. Always check if your SAGAs have invalid entries on their DTRs.

Q: Can my SAGA exceed his/her allotted hours per month?
A: No. They can, however, maximize their allotted hours for the whole month as long as it is within the allowed parameters (e.g. six hours per day, not within class hours) but they cannot encode more than their allocated hours. Moreover, the system would not allow this.

Q: Can my SAGA plot eight (8) full hours per day since we still have remote learning set-up?
A: No, SAGAs are only allowed to render a maximum of six (6) hours per day. Moreover, the system would not allow this.

Q: Can my SAGA plot hours during his/her supposed “class hours” since there are no classes?
A: No, we encourage the SAGA to use their class hours for academic or personal tasks. The SAGA can only plot their SAGA duties at time slots outside their class hours since the system would not allow using class hours for non-academic purposes. Class hours are encoded prior to the generation of SAGA Application Forms. Therefore, the SAGA cannot encode the rendering of SAGA Service in the slots where class hours are already encoded.

Q:Why can't I hire my SAGAs?
A:First, your SAGAs must have completed the video orientation and passed the respective quiz to be eligible to be hired. The SAGAs must also update their OSAM account, otherwise there will also be an error.

REMINDER: As per the SAGA Consolidated Rules and Regulations (SAGA-CRR) through AO PAEP 15-84, the CU Student Affairs unit has authority to act on reports on violations of the SAGA CRR.
