Office of Student Activities (OSA) established, with Ms. Virgie Leomo as its first head, on 1974 during the administration of Dr. Dulce Miranda as OIC in OSA.

OUR VISION
To be the central unit catering to the activities and welfare of students that fully understands and brings out their maximum potential as compassionate leaders and united student organizations with sustainable, innovative, and creative programs.

OUR MISSION
To create programs and initiatives that will develop well-rounded student leaders and proactive student organizations as catalysts for a progressive and globally competitive university.

OUR MANDATE
OSA serves as the University's coordinating center for activities concerning students and organizations. It is tasked to ensure that the students' organizational resources are well-utilized to achieve a well-rounded studentry. It promotes servant leadership, community exposures and services, national and global consciousness, democratic ideals and convictions, and zeal for the pursuit of academic excellence. It envisions itself as a proactive service unit pioneering paperless knowledge management practices through the efficient and effective use of participatory/interpersonal communication and information technology. OSA plans, organizes, and supervises student activities to enrich students’ socio-cultural values and leadership capabilities.

Programs for UPLB Freshies
  • Campus Tour

    An annual activity spearheaded by the Office of Student Activities, the Campus Tour aims to familiarize the UPLB freshies and transferees with key buildings and landmarks in the University. Student volunteers, both affiliated and unaffiliated with various organizations, serve as tour guides.

  • AlmOSAlan

    UPLB student organizations welcome the freshies by treating them to breakfast.

  • Opening Convocation

    The formal welcome to all freshies and transferees, where they are introduced to the Officers of the Central Administration, Deans and Directors of the various colleges, units, and offices of the University. They also get to know services and programs they can avail of from the different units and offices of the University.

  • Freshie Fair

    Student organizations introduce themselves and their advocacies at the Freshie Fair with free food and drinks, items, merchandise, and fun activities and surprises.

  • Freshie Night

    A welcome treat for the Freshies of UPLB, capping off the Freshie Activities to let freshies be acquainted with each other and get to know local performers before starting their academic journey in the university.

  • UPLB USC-CSC Election

    Facilitation of the Central Electoral Board meetings and provision of assistance during the election.

  • UPLB Loyalty Day

    Facilitation of the students and student organizations' participation in the annual activity.

  • SURPASS

    Screen, Select, and Send UPLB Representatives to Programs and Awards Support System (e.g. JRMSP, ARC YLC TAYO Awards, IGLC, JENESYS, Ideas Positive, etc.).

  • Other Collaborations and Partnerships

    Activities such as mini-concerts, contests, and symposia in collaboration or in partnership with other offices, units, student organizations, the UPLB University Student Council, College Student Councils, and public and private entities outside UPLB.


Programs for Student Organizations
  • Organization Orientation (OO)

    A semestral activity spearheaded by OSA, the OO is a major requirement for organization registration which aims to reiterate policies and guidelines implemented in the University pertaining to student organizations and their activities.

  • Student Organization Advisers' Forum (SOAdvisers' or SOAd Forum)

    The SOAd Forum is the space wherein SO Advisers can mingle and raise their concerns and where OSA can raise awareness regarding the increasing issues faced by student leaders and student organizations. This aims to strengthen the relationship of OSA, the SOAds, and student organizations and promotes the essence of being an Iskolar ng Bayan through guided actions and decisions.

  • Organization Space Utilization Forum (Formerly SOADmin Forum)

    With the aim of drafting a unified policy on facility usage, this forum aims to invite all building administrators and/or representatives to discuss current and future policy on facility usage, issues, and resolutions.

  • Leadership Summit

    A 2-day annual training workshop designed for student leaders, by student leaders, the Leadership Summit explores and enhances the potential of UPLB student leaders for personal development, leadership, and social responsibility, the Leadership Summit was designed by the student leaders for student leaders.

  • Linang Lunes

    A three-part series done f in preparation for the Student Organization Leaders' Assembly (SOLA), Linang Lunes aims to be an avenue for students to enrich their knowledge and skills specific to socio-cultural and leadership capabilities, with the expected outcomes to be proposals for major activities by the clusters on the next academic year. This offers talks and/or workshops catering to the three Clusters from program areas: leadership, extension and public service, and culture and the arts.

  • Student Organization Leaders' Assembly (SOLA)

    The annual one-day gathering of UPLB student organization leaders where esteemed speakers who are brimming embodiments of effective praxis in the three program areas will speak. Proposals from the Linang Lunes will be presented and finalized in this activity.

    Facilitation of process, verification, and registration of student organizations in UPLB.

  • Approval of Activity Permit (AP) and Letter of Information (LOI)

    Processing of student organizations activities inside (AP) and outside (LOI) of the University.

  • Recommending Approval for Student Organization Activities' Endorsement to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and the Chancellor

    Processing the requests for endorsements of activities of student orgs to the VCSA and the Chancellor.

  • Issuance of Certificates

    Processing of certificates pertinent to the student organizations as proof of org registration, membership, officership, or advisorship.

  • Conflict Mediation

    Conflicts between and among student organizations.
