UPLB CHEMICAL KINETICS SOCIETY

Academic Organization, clustered under Engineering, established in 1992.

Established by five Chemistry majors in 1992, the UPLB Chemical Kinetics Society, also known as UPLB CHEMO, is an academic organization in the University of the Philippines Los Baños that is catered to BS Chemistry, BS Agricultural Chemistry, BS Chemical Engineering, BS Biology, BS Food Science and Technology, and BS Mathematics and Science Teaching (Major in Chemistry) students. It is the sole affiliate member of the Philippine Association of Chemistry Students, Inc. (PACS, Inc.), a national organization for Chemistry students, under the Institute of Chemistry in UPLB. UPLB CHEMO is also the organizer of the Philippine National Chemistry Olympiad (PNCO) Regional Eliminations in Regions IV-A and IV-B, which is regarded as the most reputable Chemistry competition for high school students. In its total years of activity, UPLB CHEMO continuously strives to uphold its core principles of promoting academic excellence and contributing to the development of the Philippine society through the application of Chemistry and other related fields by conducting a multitude of goal-driven and developmental activities. At UPLB CHEMO, we are dedicated to raising awareness and advancing the capacity of Chemistry in providing service to the Filipino people.
